Potion is seeking an energetic Business Development Lead to join our team. The Business Development Lead (BDL) is a tenacious entrepreneurially-minded person passionate about finding, creating, and developing new projects and new opportunities to grow a business and create impact.
S/he is the tactical gatekeeper for the studio and works with Ops, Production, Design, Technology and Management to convert opportunities into projects, projects into programs, and programs into reputation.
The BDL is a gatekeeper and business catalyst for Potion in a few key ways:
1.) Client/Opportunity Management – When opportunities present themselves in the form of RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, phone inquiries, or other means, the BDL functions as the day to day manager and shepherd of that client’s project and the development of the opportunity to the point of contract execution. The BDL must build both credibility as an individual and for Potion as a whole with an eye toward bringing the opportunity to Potion, and building a long-term relationship with the prospective client partner.
2.) Business Development – While Potion has significant existing and incoming opportunities to respond to, these are lagging indicators. The BDL should also be entrepreneurially-minded and looking for ways to expand our reach into new verticals, new client relationships, and new types of partnerships and business models where Potion can have success. S/he is also always evaluating existing business for opportunities for growth and expansion.
3.) PR/Communications Management – Before opportunities present themselves, Potion always seeks to create the conditions where they can be made manifest by positioning itself as a well-regarded home for world-class creativity. The BDL does this by pro-actively managing Potion’s outward-facing media (social, website, appearances and outside programming) with an eye toward raising our profile, strategically sharing our work and culture, and making sure we are active participants in the major events, award, and discussions in our industry and professional community.
